"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." --2 Tim. 2:15

starting today i am going to read Proverbs, starting with chapter one. my aunt had suggested that i read it long ago, and now i'm taking her up on that offer. interesting how certain things in your life will make you humble yourself.

not that i'm becoming holier than thou or anything, just taking a stronger stance in my religion and what I believe. i know that i'm always wanting God to do for me, but what have i done to show that i am appreciative?

Something that I always remember from my childhood is what my grandmother would say to me [Lord rest her soul]
"God gives you one dollar, and all he wants from that dollar is 10 cents. He gives you $100 and he only wants $10. Seven days in a week, and he asks us to devote one to him. Is that too much to ask, after all he's done for you."

That rings loud and clear to me today. I know that many are skeptical about religion or about churches really. But seek God. Truly seek Christ and His church.

I can't just be doing wrong and expect God to just bless me when i ask for it. I must humble myself. He is my Father and i am his lowly child.

Oh yeah

Go Houston. :)

being as that i live here now... why not join the crowd.

Poly Tics

i will admit, i am not the most "versed" individual when it comes to politics, but i do believe that i am able to comprehend simple news articles and broadcast on television.

Rove debate. DeLay debate. all this new ish going down, and you would think that all of this would be concern for America.

More stuff is falling off the table and no one is questioning whose pushing it off.

I was going to tackle every obstcle on why we should impeach bush. i have like list and list of why.

but i just got a phone call from my sweetie...

see even i don't care about poly tics

Root Canal

praise the Lord. I was able to have the first procedure for my root canal today. wonderful. wonderful doctor. dr. zurker in houston. i would recommend him to any and everyone. great doctor. please look him up. he's on 529 off of huffmeister.

so now my lips and my mouth are just numb. the right side of my mouth feels like its just sticking out all the way to the sidewalk. weird feelings. i just feel like i have these huge swollen lips on one side. but i don't. at least not when i look in the mirror. but i swear that as soon as i'm not looking at myself in the mirror the go back to being swollen. i'm so convinced

can't say my tooth hurts. can't feel anything. will continue to take the penicillin i got from the ER and the hydrocodone (mmm) j/k. that should help me out for a few days. next appointment is next thursday at again 8AM. i like to have it over with quickly.

priase God, he truly truly answered my prayers. He might not come when you want Him, but He's ALWAYS on time.

won't be posting for awhile. must make all B's.

yes B's. i always say strive for something you know is attainable, so if you don't get it, it wouldn't be as bad, and if you excel above well than thats just a bonus

Back again

dern toothache is back again. this time full force. i'm going to go ahead an extract it on wednesday. i can not afford a root canal. so i must go with my next and only option. moms reassures me that i have 4-5 years to get a bridge or something to prevent the rest of my teeth from shifting. which would be the ultimate nightmare.

its only 8:30pm and i'm doing all in my will power to stay awake. i'm so very tired. spent this past weekend out of town. got no school work or work in general done. so now i'm just trying away to stay wired and stay awake to finish up a paper and do some editing.

sadly i have a presentation tomorrow at 12:30. so not prepared. trying to decide if i would rather read tonight and make my notecards, or wait and get up early and do it... leaning towards that morning time studying. i figure if i get up no later than 8AM. and be at school by 11:45. might even be able to sleep till 9. but i'll probably lolly gag. so i'll set my alarm to 8:30.

I'm so convinced there aren't enough hours in the day for anyone to fully function. I'm living off of about two ounces of rest daily it seems like. The media world is a stressful one. Stress beyond belief. If anyone had any clue of how production has the ingredient to drive one nuts, there would be less negative letters to the editor and more jolly and feel good ones. But that wouldn't be eye catching now would it?

I didn't want to complain, but i figured well it is my blog, heck if anyone can complain on here its going to be. Complaints in the comments don't phase me.

Time is of the essence. I believe i've heard this phrase before. What the heck does that mean? Essence vs. Time?

And my thoery or thought or aggravation about not having enough hours in the day is proven correct. I must jump up now to go to class, or actually to pick up for car pooling and then head to class. And i was just getting comfortable.

Onward to praise the Lord

not my church specifically. not even in texas probably. but it is the Church that i attend. my religious preference. if you call it a preference. i go to the Church of Christ because i believe it to be the Church stated in the Bible. it is my home, my refuge, my family. i attend Shady Acres Church of Christ here in Houston. My home congregation is The Church of Christ at Cedar Valley [previously Cherry Valley Church of Christ] in Dallas, Texas. Transition was a little different, but i'm adjusting well. Always great to be in the presence of the saints.

NBA 2k6

I haven't had all the time in the world to play this game, but for the short spurts that i have popped it into my ps2 its caught my attention as being worthy enough to be played for hours. I love college hoops 2k5 and nba 2k5 so it was very likely that i would get the 2k6. though i liked the games a lot better when they were $20. i can see why they went up though. i was a Live fan since around 04, but soon after that i gave up on Live and switched to 2k. i still have Live 04 has to be one of my favorites, but def. a 2k fan. maybe i can get some playing time in today after grading copy-editing papers.

Movie Review...of sorts

just got back from the movie theater roughly 15minutes ago. great movie. i think i might have liked numero uno a little better but dos is great too. i gave it a B rating on yahoo.

worth my $5.75. really like action movies as is, so this was really on my turf. after seeing movies like this one, it makes you want to get in your own car and drive like frank. seriously. i thought i could switch gears like a mutha...till i remembered that i don't have those skills, nor do i have the car...nor am i frank. point blank.

i would recommend this film in a heartbeat. in fac i hope the release it with numero uno in a two disc set so i can own both. really looking forward to its dvd release.

saw flightplan on thursday. i gave it an F on yahoo. i don't even want to blog why. it could have been so much more. i'm still left wondering why those two men where in the window, and how that dude knew her husband. it just left you hanging, wanting answers. acting by jodie foster was great, but the move could have been so much more.
